We would like to share some exciting news and introduce you to your health plan’s new name.  University Physicians Healthcare Group’s new name is The University of Arizona Health Plans – University Healthcare Group.  The reason for the change is that University Medical Center and University Physicians Healthcare (UPH) merged.

What does this mean to you?  It simply means that your health plan name has changed.  Your doctor will remain the same and you will get your medical care the same as before.  In the future, all of your important plan information will have The University of Arizona Health Plans – University Healthcare Group on it.  We will still make your health and wellness a priority and will use our new company to provide even better service to you.

Serving Arizona's healthcare needs for more than 20 years, University Healthcare Group (UHG) is a community-rated health plan that provides healthcare coverage for almost 20,000 members. A mission-driven program, University Healthcare Group is designed to insure the uninsured small business community. UHG offers businesses with 2 to 50 employees, as well as political subdivisions.

If you are a group of two participating employees or greater, you may enroll in the UHG program. If you are a group of one, however, recent legislation has removed UHG’s authority to enroll groups of one. If only one employee of your business is interested in enrolling, we regret to inform you that your business is ineligible at this time.

The enrollment materials that highlight the benefits of the Healthcare Group program and detail the eligibility requirements for small businesses, as well as provide all the forms needed to enroll are located at www.hcgaz.com under Prospective Members/Enrollment Packet.

If you are unable to attend an enrollment workshop, please contact UHG to schedule an appointment for your group. We may be able to discuss your questions over the phone, by appointment at UHG or have an enrollment associate visit your office.
